We provide services and support for clients through 28 Vision Australia centres in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. Clinics are also held in 29 other locations and there are outreach services to the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

Description:
The VA Connect app allows members to read publications that are available through i-access, Vision Australia’s online Library service.
The app’s accessible interface allows you to search, select and read a vast range of books and other publications. You can also subscribe to magazines and daily newspapers.
The app includes a player that can read audio and text-based titles by streaming them from your online bookshelf or download them to read offline.
Among other features, the player remembers your reading position and you can add your own bookmarks. You can also adjust playback speed and set a sleep timer.

Good idea, bad app.
I want to like this app. However it has given me nothing about headaches, constant crashing constantly bugging out constant not being able to log in issues. I wish I wish I had the knowledge to suggest how the developers could make this app better. Sadly I do not. So please fix this app vision Australia.

Still empty bookshelf
The app is flaky in performance and I still can't add books to my bookshelf. My podcasts and subscriptions still work.
When I choose a book it tells me it is added but it never appears.
Looks like I will have to get out my old plextalk.
Found a work-around by going into I-access online web page and adding books there. Then when VA Connect is run, they show up.

Empty bookshelf
When books and subscribed papers etc do turn up, it works pretty well, the consistent difficulty is that not all daisy audio books actually arrive in the app. They show when you log in to I-access account. Have contacted tech support but no resolution.

Needs work
While it plays Daisy books, it seems to get stuck at the end of each chapter. Pushing the Play/Pause when it is stuck jumps a chapter. Downloading is not intuitive and is accessed via a fly out menu.
The speed change setting does' seem to work.

Great App
Great app, so simple to use. A must for anyone in the blindness community.
