Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) is AustraliaÍs largest non-government provider of education, therapy and cochlear implantation services for children and adults with vision or hearing loss, their families, and the professionals who support them. Over 1,200 children with significant vision or hearing loss are benefiting from RIDBCÍs broad range of services, in addition to almost 3,000 babies and children receiving vision and hearing screening each year. We also support 3,500 children and adults through the SCIC Cochlear Implant Program. RIDBC Renwick Centre, operating in affiliation with the University of Newcastle, is the largest provider of postgraduate education programs in the field of the education of children with a sensory disability in Australia, and is among the largest and most widely recognised in the field across the world.

Learn how to communicate 150 common Auslan signs, like “please,” “thanks,” and “how are you?” Each sign is clearly presented, with a photo of the handshape used to form the sign and a video clip demonstrating how the sign is produced.

The app also includes the Auslan alphabet - so you can learn how to fingerspell and numbers 0-10.

The NextSense Auslan Tutor: Key Signs was developed by staff at NextSense, in consultation with expert Auslan users.

For a more comprehensive understanding of Auslan, you can download the full version of the NextSense Auslan Tutor for the iPhone and iPod touch. More than 500 Auslan signs are included, each with five corresponding entries. These five entries are:

• a photo of the handshape used to form the sign
• a video clip demonstrating the single sign
• a video clip of the sign used in a phrase
• a video clip of the phrase used in a sentence
• a text note about Auslan grammar that is pertinent to the sign, phrase or sentence

These additional features help improve the users understanding and use of Auslan.

Pretty good

This app is pretty good. Though there needs to be some fixing on the lists. I can't access the last thing on any of the lists ! Please fix !!

Best starter app

This was fantastic. Much easier to follow then many sites, YouTube videos and apps.

Good app but has a few bugs

This app is a great start for basics, however some of the letters and numbers can not be opened due to not being able to scroll enough to tap on them.

Great App

This has been a great starting point for us to learn basic words to teach our toddler who is non verbal. I've had no issues with the App, it has been fantastic.
