Knack is dankzij zijn uniek concept hét nieuwsmagazine bij uitstek in Vlaanderen. Het biedt achtergrondinformatie over de actualiteit in binnen- en buitenland en besteedt daarnaast ook aandacht aan economie, cultuur, samenleving en sociale media. Een aantal bekende opiniemakers en columnisten staat ook wekelijks garant voor de kritische aanpak van actuele gebeurtenissen.
Elke week verschijnt Knack met het lifestylemagazine Knack Weekend en het entertainmentmagazine Knack Focus, samen een uniek totaalpakket.

De voordelen van deze applicatie op een rijtje:
• u leest Knack al op dinsdagavond vanaf 21 uur
• u kunt al beginnen lezen tijdens het downloaden
• elke uitgave wordt automatisch gedownload in de nacht na verschijning (enkel via wifi)
• u kunt uw gedownloade nummers ook offline lezen
• u bladert doorheen het magazine waarbij u kunt inzoomen op artikels, foto’s en grafieken
• u leest Knack ofwel in Magazine lay-out ofwel in de geoptimaliseerde tablet lay-out of smartphone lay-out.
• u leest artikels in tekstmode (tap op een artikel in Magazine lay-out om dit in tekstmode te lezen)
• u navigeert gemakkelijk door het magazine aan de hand van de paginastrip onderaan

Abonnees op de papieren versie van Knack krijgen in de app, zonder extra kosten, toegang tot hun content. Bent u abonnee, dan kan u deze dienst activeren in de applicatie.

Niet-abonnees kunnen via de applicatie een los nummer kopen of zich abonneren. Voor een los nummer betaalt u €5,99. Voor een digitaal abonnement betaalt u €59,99 per trimester. Deze aankopen worden via uw Apple ID verrekend en beheerd, volgens de modaliteiten bepaald door iTunes:
• Gedurende de door u gekozen duur van het abonnement kunt u alle beschikbare magazines downloaden zonder bijkomende kosten.
• De betaling via uw iTunes Account gebeurt bij de bevestiging van de aankoop.
• Het abonnement wordt automatisch vernieuwd, tenzij u de automatische vernieuwing uitschakelt, ten laatste 24 uur voor het aflopen van het abonnement. Standaard staat de automatische vernieuwing aan (= Auto-renewing, until cancelled by user).
• De betaling voor de vernieuwing van het abonnement via uw iTunes account vindt plaats 24 uur voor het aflopen van het abonnement.
• Het abonnement kan beheerd worden door de automatische vernieuwing uit te zetten. Dit doet u door naar de gebruikersinstellingen van uw iTunes account te gaan, op uw iPad, iPhone of in iTunes op uw computer.
• U kunt een abonnement niet stopzetten tijdens de looptijd van het abonnement.
• Wanneer u een abonnement neemt, vervallen de overblijvende gratis nummers die u eventueel nog tegoed hebt.
• Met uw iTunes-abonnement kunt u enkel het magazine Knack lezen op uw iPad of iPhone. U hebt geen toegang tot de +zone op de website. Wenst u ook toegang tot de +zone, dan kunt u een digitaal abonnement nemen via de website.

Bladwijzer?

Het irritante aan deze app is dat je steeds van voor af aan moet beginnen als je een andere app durft te openen. Deze app onthoudt niet waar je gebleven was zodat je steeds weer naar de laatst geopende uitgave en pagina moet zoeken, en dat zijn er nogal wat. Kunnen jullie geen bladwijzer implementeren zodat men steeds weet waar men ooit gestopt is met lezen? Zouden in de toekoms de intenet links uit de artikels kunnen geopend worden in de browser die men gewoon is te gebruiken? De ingebowde browser is nogal spartaans en niet altijd bedrijfszeker. Men kan ook geen links opslaan bvb. Alvast bedankt.

Wanneer echt digitaal?

Wanneer ik de Knack app open, verwacht ik geen advertentie, maar een gepersonaliseerde inhoudstafel. Mijn privacy geef ik graag op, als Knack mij helpt om doelgerichter te lezen. Niet om doelgerichter te adverteren.
