We bought our pod tracker six months ago to allow our indoor outdoor cat some freedom. Initially, coverage with spotty and we had some problems… But overall performance was decent. When the app was revamped a couple of months ago, there were additional problems. But, the folks at pod trackers have been very diligent about taking a look at the change to that is presented and coming up with solutions and enhancements. Is it perfect? No, not yet. But I'm confident that that is what they are working toward. I'm also confident that they will get there.

Cant stop recording adventures, app is not intuitive to navigate anymore. Basically went from 4 stars to one!

Just finished setting up the app and although I haven't used the actual pod yet, after playing with the app I don't have much hope! Not enough testing gone into this, app is super buggy, freezes every time (haven't lasted more than 1 minute so far without having to force quit and relaunch), really slow as well. Must have skimped on the app development because the unit looks sleek. Will be a pain to use until app is updated though.

Bought the Pod tracker for my indoor/outdoor cat to wear after we moved across the country. Did a lot of research, and narrowed it down to the pod and a device that uses RF signals. The RF signal device was much more reliable. Would find my pet every time and direct me to where they were. But, I had to use a different handheld device to track and locate him. So I really wanted something that I could just use my phone for. I think the challenge with the pod is that it relies on 2G technology to do the communicating. This is spotty coverage at best, and where I live it rarely makes communication with the satellite when I press the locate button. Additionally, the option to record "adventures" is very flaky. When you press the record button, it disables the safe zone. Which makes sense--you don't need to get a notification when you're recording what your pet is doing. Unfortunately, the recording often turns itself off without telling you. And when this happens, your safe zone does not get turned back on. Also, the adventures that you record don't all end up downloading to the device. I recorded three adventures this morning and it kept downloading information from a recording that I did yesterday! Also, the dates are wrong on the recordings. They show the day before instead of today. My hope is that when they move to 3G technology it will improve the connectivity and reliability of the device. Until then, it's really hit and miss. Unfortunately, the app drains phone battery like crazy.

Slow in locating and activity data no longer syncs as the Bluetooth on the pod has stopped working only after 1 week and the support staff don't do any troubleshooting. Unit will be going back to the shop tomorrow.
