WeÍre a cinema chain with 21 cineplexes throughout South Africa. We have a history going back to the first Metro Theatre in downtown Johannesburg, which opened in 1932. In 1988, our name was changed from Metro Theatres to Nu Metro Theatres, and, in 2008, to Nu Metro Cinemas. No stranger to innovation, we introduced luxury cinemas to South Africa in 2001, with the Nu Metro Cinema Priv_ concept. A year later, in 2002, we launched the GirlsÍ Night Out monthly movie outing„a concept that has become hugely successful, and we are flattered that it has its share of imitators. Our first digital cinema was launched in December, 2006, and now every screen on the circuit is fully digital. In 2014, we launched the immersive, large-screen, 4K, 11.1-channel surround cinema concept, called Xtreme. Our luxury, business class cinemas are branded VIP. WeÍre also an exclusive outlet for multi-sensory 4DX technology in South African cinemas.

Bad performance Having to enter the same loyalty details four times is really irritating. On the last booking screen there is no icon to complete the booking?

Absolute rubbish

Does not work. Titles don't load. Unable to book. Unable to retrieve booking history (tickets booked via the website). If you want to book movies via an app, go to Ster Kinekor

No international cards accepted, no warnings

Serious failure that I had to call the theatre after trying 4 different cards with nondescript errors in the app during purchase. Why don't you accept international cards? Put a warning on your app or at least a proper error. UX fail. Show is sold out now.

Pity you have to pick at least one star

I can't comment on this app except that you can't log on. It ask for your cinema and if you're left or right handed and that's where it stops. Same can be said for the mobile site. The only way to see what movies are available are to either go in or use a laptop. Nu Metro obviously don't care as this has been an issue since the app & mobile sites release.

Modern looks, missing some basics

The movie browser looks good, with a novel parallax scroll meter which contains some quick-tools. So far browsing has been a superior experience to the ster kinekor app, none of the crashing mentioned by other reviewers. I like that there is a wish list for movie fans, that is a major differentiator with SK. However, Facebook-only support for that wish list is a disappointing limitation. Also, the need to for users to choose a low/med/high version trailer to stream is a sub-par experience, are you saving me excess data usage, or avoiding buffering? If the former, show me the size for each choice. If the latter, sniff out my speed and play the clip! How about letting me set a preference once, instead of every time? "A" for effort, with room for improvement.

Needs Improvements

Good concept (just as the Sterkinikor App that has been out for a good 2 years now) but it really is too slow no matter how fast your internet connection is! This is a real bummer as it really does prevent me from using the app and going somewhere else! Please Numetro.. You need to correct this error quickly! Thank you
