Iris Smart Switch is a great product to start with!
I have looked, a few times, at the line of Iris products at Lowe's with my fiancé. We have agreed that the line is definitely worth looking into once we get to that point. Starting with the obvious, security, so that I know when he is working night shift, I'll be looked after and secure. Now he has moved to permanent day shift, and while security is still a priority, we can have a view on our thermostat and make sure we locked the doors, even keep the sprinkler system from cutting on when it's the downpour time of the year... but when I happened across this smart-switch, which didn't require any master control box, I had to get it. MONEY WELL SPENT! It's certainly easy to install and the app is very user friendly! I was quite easily able to set my lamp to turn on at the exact moment we'll need it , home or not! And it is just as reliable in the morning. But THE BEST thing is inside the package was a voucher for a free modem! So now we've shaved $60-$80 off the products for the whole house!
Can't wait for the whole house coverage !

Great but could use improvement
I love the ease of having smart plugs for several lamps in my home. I have them on timers and occasionally turn them on/off through the app. The app seems to have some performance issues and the occasional meltdown where I have no control of my lamps. It would be nice if the app could remember which screen I was on last instead of returning to the home screen each time.

Like the concept need help
When I first got iris it seemed confusing at first because there is no user Manuel. I had to hunt on line and eventually had to call tech to figure out some of the issues. Now that I have most of my devices connected I like what I get. The only issue is that my house has a large footprint and is very spread out. Some of the devices that are further away from the hub keep loosing connection and the iris suggestion is always to add another smart switch in between. Now I have spent lots of $ on smart switches and have a trail from the back of the house to the hub and some of my devices still don't work well. They are disconnected more than connected. I would like a better solution before
I start switching to another system. I like the system but if it won't cover my entire house what's the point.

Great features, great value
I have been paying a security company almost $40/month for a system that does nothing unless I get robbed. Then it calls the police?? Iris offers a ton more benefits at a fraction of the cost. The new police monitoring is interesting but I'm not sure I'll bother.
