Crashes before it does anything

I tested the beta version of this app and gave lots of helpful information. It worked well for a while when it was first released but now it's a complete waste of phone memory. Been s year now and it still doesn't stay open or connect to the bike. Of course the last time it was updated for iPhone was August 2016. Probably hasn't kept up with OS updates.

When it works, it's impressive!

I just downloaded the app approximately 2 weeks ago. I'll start with the positive: 1. The data fields set up in the app are quite informative to include displays of where you were when at your maximum speed for that ride. It also does the same for any maximum lean angle attained and includes what gear you were in at that corresponding maximum result. 2. You can share your traveled route with others and decide wether to have your travel data remain private or shared with the public. It's a great way to help others who may be considering your similar routes as beginners. Now the areas really requiring Ducati's attention: Both positives above are great WHEN THE APP WORKS. I've tried various setups and options to trouble shoot or correct some of the issues but they only reappear. 1. When attempting to LINK the app to the Multistrada, often the Bluetooth connection requires 2 or 3 attempts. That means turning the power off then back on. Often, your phone will be connected via Bluetooth while the app is not. I don't quite understand how or why that is possible. 2. The Recording feature. Under 'Options' you can choose to enable constant recording regardless of the moto being at a halt OR to automatically pause when the moto is not moving. However, when you press 'Start' the app begins a 15 second countdown then begins. The problem with that it's not enough time don your gloves properly and secure the phone. So it may already be paused when you start riding and does not always resume recording. I've tried using both 'constant' and 'auto pause' recording and have limited success. At this point, I've logged roughly 10 rides that I've tried to record. Only 2 have been recorded properly. Often when I've stopped I would see the recording on pause and it asks me to 'CONTINUE' or 'END'. When I press 'CONTINUE' it starts recording within 5 seconds then stops since the moto hasn't moved yet. 3. Saving your memory. Often when I come to a stop, I will see the recording had already stopped. If I select 'END', I am given the option to name the trip and save it. At least on fire separate occasions, when I tap the section to give a name, the app closes and the ride is apparently not saved. I suggest fixing the recording glitch and adding a feature that allows the user to decide, via drop down menu, how long the countdown will take before recording. Maybe set it up in increments of 30 seconds up to 15 minutes. This allows riders to set it and focus on their gear, moto fluids and their passenger. Conclusion. Rather than call the app 'crap', I've offered solutions via feedback on the app so hopefully the Ducati team can make the needed improvements. The app is a decent attempt at inspiring Multistrada riders to learn what these awesome motos can do and share amongst the community. Between the repeated attempts to connect the app to the Multistrada multimedia system and the often failed recording of routes traveled, the app is serving a useful purpose, rather creating frustration among a community of riders who expect more from a company capable of producing such high performance motos. I hope this evaluation helped others to know what to expect.

First day to use app. Worked with the iPhone and linked to the PikesPeak easily.

Absolutely useless

Ducati tried to make some marketing out of this useless connected app. You need to set it up every time you start riding. Which is very convenient considering my phone is in my pocket and i already have my gloves on when i think about it. You cannot setup anything on the bike. You cannot update the bike's software OTA. And it hasn't been updated since 2015. Ducati just respect us and our money not saying it's a connected motorcycle. Unhappy customers here look at your ratings.
