    Hello! We are Patrick and Ruth Schwenk, the creators of For the Family (www.forthefamily.org), The Better Mom (www.thebettermom.com) and The Dig for Kids (www.thedigforkids.com). We met while attending the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. We have been married for fifteen years and have four children ages five to eleven. We love serving in ministry, spending time together as a family, reading, drinking lots of coffee, and resting in God’s grace. Here are a few fun facts about us!! How we met: We met on a prank phone call. Yes, you read that right! While attending the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, I (Pat) called Ruth pretending to be a local radio station announcing an opportunity to win cash. While she didn’t fall for the prank, in time, she would fall for me. I am forever grateful for my roommate who suggested we call this unsuspecting classmate of his! Favorites activities: We love reading, bike riding with the kids, Michigan football (GO BLUE!) and early morning quiet coffee time. Our background: I (Pat) was born, raised, and born again in a conservative Christian home and church in the Midwest. My father was a Baptist pastor and church planter. I (Ruth) was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan in a loving and hard-working family. While I was not raised in a Christian home or church, by God’s grace I came to know Christ as my Savior in high school. It is our joy to be serving in ministry, seeking to grow God’s people into His likeness. Education: We both met and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. I (Pat) am finishing up my master’s at Grace Theological Seminary.
